I could see the list of ISO's (only 1 in the flash drive) but did not try to launch, seeing as it was able to boot the USB. I have never seen this in my 25+ years working with computers.Įagerly waiting to see if anyone can help some sort of pre boot driver issue or something?
I CAN boot USB flash drive of CloneZilla if that helps figure out the issue. I can however create the HP UEFI Diagnostics USB flash drive, and I can insert that flash drive, boot, press F2 and the flash drive works as expected.Īlso, if I boot & press F9 to get the boot menu, then insert the USB flash drive, the computer seems to freeze up?Īlmost like for some reason NO boot device other than the HHD can launch However I still can not boot to a USB drive, I then put the HHD into the PC having the USB issues & windows boots perfect.Īlso the USB ports all work perfect when in windows. I then took the HDD and put t in another similar model and used my USB flash drive to install windows 11. I also updated the Bios to whatever version it detected and updated to still same issue with USB boot. I checked and changed many things in the Bios, no luck. I then tried a bootable windows 10 DVD with USB DVD drive, and it does the exact same thing!! It NEVER tries to boot the windows install from either Flash drive. It will finally go to boot menu asking if you want to continue to boot, enter bios etc. If you wait, the HP logo will show up, but it again just sits there, also if you press like the num lock, it WILL change either on or off but it take forever. However, when I try to boot to USB, it acts like it gets frozen, the num lock nor caps lock will not function and it just sits there. I wanted to image it with either Windows 10 or Windows 11, so I created 2 USB flash drives 1 for each. I got it as a barebones, I bought CPU memory HD etc.
